I am getting close to making the final "plunge" will be relocating to Calgary within the next couple of months.
In common with most of you, I also worry about the consequences of leaving a steady job and having to start anew in a new country. Members in this forum have been very helpful in terms of sharing their experiences and providing suggestions to help new immigrants settle as quickly as possible.

1. What is the average cost of renting a 2 bedroom apartment located within a radius of 5 miles of downtown Calgary ?
2. What is the minimum duration of a rental contract ?
3. What are the average monthly outgoings (excluding rent) for a family of 4 (Husband, Wife and 2 school going children) ?
4. What amount is considered to be a "good" salary ? I am the only earner and my wife is a full time homemaker.
5. What are the average % tax and other mandatory deductions on gross salary ?
