just noticed that CIC has published more service standards, including one for processing 80% of CEC applications of 10 months:

That's good news, but keep in mind that even if CIC is able to keep to this standard, one out of five applications are expected to exceed 10 months...

I guess I am part of that 20%, this is my 14th month and, as far as I know, I sent a complete package; they did not require me to send any "missing document"....

How are u doing my friend..Actually I got my PR under my old application. We did our official landing at the Blaine border on October 22, 2011. Actually to my surprise Seattle office was really fast after issuing medical request. I did my medicals on July 27, 2011. I think the medicals reached ottawa on August, 14, 2011. After that I got an e mail from Seattle office on August 30, 2011 about me and my wife's birth certificate. They asked for original birth certificates as I just sent them Class 10th certificate. I managed to get those certificates from India and sent them on September 29, 2011 and the documents reached Seattle next day. After that we were expecting to get our PPR in like minimum 2 months. To my surprise, I got PPR in a week on October 6, 2011 via e mail. Then we got our passports back on Oct 21,2011. My point is seattle office is really fast after issing medicals. I just want to share this story with u because u were so great with ur replies when I was sufferring at the hand of Seattle office. Thank u so much. I already withdraw my CEC application and waiting for some communication from Buffalo office.

Hey Yaju, is it ok to submit a birth certificate issued by the Indian embassy in Toronto or the 10th class certificate? I do not have my original birth certificate
