MR	:	Medical Request - An email (or a regular mail) that requests you to take medical exams. It might be included in the Initial Assessment.
PPR	:	Passport Request or Confirmation of Permanent Residence - An email (or a regular mail) that requests you to send VO your passport. If you are a citizen of the countries or territories listed in CIC website, you probably receive a "Passport Request". If you are from the visitor visa exemptions country, you maybe receive a "Confirmation of Permanent Residence" instead of passport request and then you can go landing immediately.

i think it might be depends on NOC category demand , those who will be in demand category (29 occupations )will be processed fast than other . and so they will get AOR fast ..... as i heard from lawyer in canada. moreover in many of the blog it is mentioned that it takes 2-4 weeks and people got within 4 weeks before may 2012.

so now it has been 4 weeks but still no news for AOR (New delhi)

Hey guys my work permit got expired this month, n already received my new extended work permit for 2 years. Does it effect my application if i wait for medical n den i will send my new work permit n LMO. Do i have to send new Paystub??? Felt lik crazy somtime just waitin for one more step towards mental peace. :-\

How long are medicals valid for? Can you get one done before you receive the request from the visa office and send them a copy once the request is received?

Just in my view, it's your choice but maybe better way is that send NDVO photocopies of your new WP and LMO.

A medical result is valid for 1 year or 2 years.

Basically, the expire date of your medical result is 1 year from the day when you take a medical exam.

CIC announced in their webpage ( http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob423.asp ) that they will extend the expire date if applicant meets;
* One's process will be done within 15 months from the original medical exam date AND
* The expire date of medical result is only one thing that stops the process from final approved and PPR (or ability to reasonably land within the initial year-long validity)
Officers will now be able to submit a request for an extension of the medical exam result validity (as long as they were done within the last 15 months) and they can extend them for an additional 12 months without the need for an additional medical exam.

I heard that in the past, some seniors had taken medicals first and sent their results with their applications. However, I don't know whether or not we're able to do send medical results without MR, because currently doctors need letters and/or e-mails from CIC. (except FAM applicants)
