I think I know the answer, but I have received my DM email and I'm waiting for my interview. My spouse/sponsor won't be coming to the interview as we are separated and I plan to file for a divorce. Should I contact CIC before the interview?

Unfortunately if you do contact IRCC and inform them of your separation your application will immediately be denied. If your sponsor does not attend the interview your application will be denied and closed. Sponsor MUST attend the landing interview.

You must update IRCC in the event of any marital/family status changes. It's not negotiable.

Yes, you need to contact IRCC and withdraw your app.
