Sorry but I cannot wait for another 2 weeks just to know when is the expiration date of my visa.

Can somebody answer me until when is the validity of a permanent resident visa (for Quebec)?

I had my medical last January 2. I recieved the letter for visa stamping last February 15 and I passed my passport today...

I'm having a dilemma on when to resign in my current job because my contract will expire on October this year.

Thank you for your help.

I think PR is good for 5 years, UNLESS your passport expires before then. If so, it would match the date of your passport expiration. At least this is how I understand it to work.

No, the approval paper for landing as a PR - the COPR - (which the OP is asking about) certainly is NOT good for 5 years or the duration of the passport. the PR card (which is received AFTER landing) is good for 5 years. These are not the same thing. The PR applicant will not become a PR until they land as a PR, and they must land BEFORE the expiration date listed on the COPR.

the COPR (approval paper) is generally valid until the 1 year anniversay of the medical exam. Sometimes it's valid for less time, sometimes it's valid for more. It is impossible for anyone to say for sure until you actually receive your COPR in the mail, which will be sent with your passport.

It is not recommended to resign your current job until that date is confirmed. I don't see how waiting 2 weeks will make any difference if your current work contract doesn't expire until October. Even if they require 3-6 months notice, you will still have plenty of time to resign if you get your passport back in March.
