Today I sent in my PR card renewal forum but after sending it I realized I'm an idiot and forgot to sign it.

I'm not sure what to do now, can I send an amendment (the form again signed)? Does anyone know the process?

Thanks.

Resend the package again with all the information

Does that include the picture as well? It was hard to take due to COVID.

Thanks for the help. At this point they aren't processing PR applications at all and I don't really want to take another picture as it's difficult, so I think I'll first contact IRCC and see what they are going to do. If they will send it back I can just wait, and when I (eventually) travel apply for a PRTD if it's still in progress at that point.

Perhaps they will allow me to fill out the form again and scan it and upload it to them, who knows. I will update if they reply to me, and just wait for now.

Nope - They will reject & send the application back to you once they start processing the applications - probably in 6+ months - You will be back in the queue. Better to send the whole package again immediately.

Thanks for the reply, yes that is one possibility. However if that is the case then I think at this point, as we're looking to travel as soon as COVID allows, I might just start using the PRTD to travel.

If a PR card is valid for 1 year, and it's taking 6-12 months to process it what's the point. Might as well just leave 1 in progress, travel and use the PRTD everytime.

PR card is valid for 5 years.

Yes, but for 6-12 months (if the current backlog remains after COVID for a period of time) you essentially can't travel. Even if you applied exactly 6 months before expiration, often they won't let you travel if your card expires within 2 months.

So at the moment I feel like I might just leave it pending for them to send it back, and when I travel just apply for the PRTD. When they send it back then I'd sign it and send it back to them, since at that point the processing (should be) faster if they've begun to catch back up.

Prior to COVID it was so fast it wouldn't have mattered.

1. It is unlikely that PRTDs will be a priority until CIC is up and running a full speed.

Really? Haven’t heard about this before! U mean we’ll have trouble when we’re back to Canada, at PoE? Or that will be impact to the PR card renewal application? If we travel with a PR card less than 2 months validity?

I’m also thinking to travel after the COVID-19 issue is over, and back before current PR card expires.

Thanks for answering.

Hi

That is possible. The other alternative is to apply again but with urgent (and a copy of the plane ticket) once everything starts up again.

Hi,
Do you have any feedback about your case, i have the same issue and i want to know should i resent the application again or wait for their response.
