Hi. Hope somebody help me with this...
I am a skilled worker in Alberta and working for about 3 months only with the current work permit. My wife and daughter ARE STILL in the Philippines but have recently received the Open Work Permit and Study Permit, respectively from the Canadian Embassy in the Phils of which their permit is co-terminus to the expiry date of my permit (October 2012) being my dependents. However, I received another offer of skilled employment in Manitoba and the employer is now getting the LMO for me. My questions are:
1. Is it possible that my wife and daughter who hold permits for Alberta, go here in Canada only after I get the new work permit in Manitoba? I mean, If I get to Manitoba to work for the new work permit, can my family come with me even if they have been approved for Alberta?
2. Or do I have to allow them to get here in Alberta, and then I will include them in the work permit application for the new employer in Manitoba for them to get a different permit, with expiry as mine for Manitoba?
3. Or do I have to wait for my work permit for new employer in Manitoba, then, when I get to Manitoba, I will allow them to come to Alberta on their current permit, then they apply for OWP and study permit once in Canada? If so, how long is the processing times if filed within Canada? In the Philippines, it took them only 3 months to get the permits.
Please advise on the best thing we could do with our situation. Thanks for your help.
