hello everybody;

I am reading all the forums on this website from lat 2-3 months and found these very knowledgeable and up-to-date.
Thanks for that.
I also want to share my situation so that I can also get the right direction:

*came as an International student in Private College in 2008; completed the 1-year diploma being a Best Scholar in the collegein 2009
*took the admission in 2-yr accounting Diploma in Humber and completed the course in 1-yr (took some credits because having B.Com from back home) with honors
*got 1yr PGWP
*got job in one of leading banks of Canada as an Investment Specialist on contract bsis; after that got the full time position
*before expiry of PGWP, my manager applied for LMO and got positive LMO and I applied for work permit extension, now waiting for work permit

my question is under which category should I apply PR and at what time.

Thanks

If you have studied in canada 1 year and having 1 year full time work experience ( A,B, O) then you can apply under CEC
If you have more then 2 years full time work experience in skill level A, B, o then apply >> CEC

OR

Apply for Skilled worker ...if you fall under that..

No, this is not correct. The educational requirement is as follows:

If you want to apply based on your Canadian credentials, you must complete either:
• a full-time Canadian post-secondary educational program of at least two years or
•a one-year Master’s program (certificates and diplomas cannot be counted) and an additional year of education, obtained in Canada, before admission into the one-year program (for a total of two years).

which bank? i work at TD BANK and they told me they wont support LMO. my wp expired just packing to go home please reply asap!
Thank you

Saur, so based on the requirements (as posted by rjessome), the 2nd degree would have to be a master's level, and I don't think the diploma from Humber would qualify.

So I think your best options are to:

A) look into the PNP program (if you're still in Ontario, it's Opportunities Ontario)
http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/index.htm

B) Consider the pros and cons of applying under the Federal Skilled Workers Program, FSW2 (arranged employment)

C) Work for 2 years and apply under the CEC program as a skilled worker

Options A and B will require a supportive employer (which it sounds like you have), but both require that the offer of permanent employment remain valid throughout the entire processing period.

Option C - once you qualify, you qualify.

You have options, which is good. And there's no reason you can't pursue more than one...

Thanks alot jes_no, these options are great.
Thanks rejesome and Duke.

Hey faroob2, talk to your immediate manager. I have also talked to HR department and they asked me to talk to immediate manager. I did that and it worked for me. all the best...
