Dear Friends,

I have landed at Toronto person on January 31st 2014 its showing on my ecas that I have landed on that date and become a permanent resident..I am currently outside Canada and I have gave the IO my friend mailing address in Canada. Please note that I didn’t change my address o notified CIC on my ecas it is still my lawyer address in Kuwait.

My question is do I need to change my address online and put my friends address???And if i didn’t change the address now I will not get my PR cards??

Please advice
Thank you

Didnt the Officer at the airport ask u the communciation address???? If u have given ur friends address all the communication will be done at the same address, no need for any change in e-cas.

Hi,

yes i did give him the adress and he told me that i will recieve the PR with 4 to 6 weeksbut i have mny doubts since that my lawyer told me that i should change my address...
In that case shall i wait for 3 more weeks and then change it ?what is the normal processing timings for getting the PR...

appreciate your advice...

Thank you

Hi your lawyer is bluffing, e-cas has no relation to whatsoever., I got my cards as per the address mentioned while landing. Rest assured, ur cards will be delivered in the given time, even your relatives can receive on behalf of you, dont worry at all.

Though relatives are not suppose to receive cards, people do give their relatives address for PR delivery. If you tell customs officer that u do have your own address in Canada then they will not let u file for PR card application ,they ask to do it when you have your own address.

PR card is an important govt document.
