I would very much appreciate a response from you.
My passports are with CHC Delhi now for nearly 10 weeks(Sent on 22-05-09)
Now my elder son has got admission at Engineering Institute abroad and has to join by 20-08-09.
The passports are with CHC DELHI and no idea when they will be returned.
Please advise what should I do?
Can I request CHC Delhi for my SONS passport alone to be sent back so he could proceed for his admission.
I am in a very confused & anxious state not knowing what to do/not to do.
Please ADVISE.
YOUR REPLY IS ANXIOUSLY AWAITED.
Thanking you in anticipation,
Sincerely Yours,
EYEDOC

Did your son has student visa to join in August? usually classes do not start until second week of Sept anyways.

If he does not have student visa, then you as a principal needs to get visa and land first and then he can land or land at same time. I am sure you will get it before your son's semester starts.

Is there a way you can contact them (by phone)..
You would need to show proof of the admission though if you have to achieve anything (they may think you are bluffing)

Wait for others to shed light

which country he has got addmission in engineering institute?

It is Canada? if not, does your son has student visa to that particular country? as far as I know countries like Australia/NZ/Canada/UK/US (the country in question you apply from is INDIA) takes anywhere between 3-4 weeks to issue student visa so if your son doesn't have a visa then he has very light chances to join the institute......sorry this is disheartning but truth.

However if he has the visa to that country and needs to travel by the end of September then probably you can ask CHC - ND to return his passport by providing them sufficient evidence on he has taken admission and has necessary visa because you never know how long they might take.

Good luck.

My son has got admission to BITS Pilani Dubai Campus. His Visa will be issued and made available for stamping at the Airport at the time of Landing.
Can the Admission letter be shown to CHC Delhi?
He also has provisional admission to Windsor University also but could not apply for student/study visa because his passports are with CHC Delhi.
Please advise me.
Will telling them regarding his provisional admission to Windsor University not jeopardize Visa process as they may take it as a case of misrepresentation?

i don't think this will be misrepresentation because they have never asked for it and you never lied as well...

I think, it's high time you tell them your problem... and request for quick return of passports....

no one can answer whether this will jeopardize your case or not... you have to take that chance... depending on whether you want to risk 1 year of your son's education or the PR.

In any case, if your son joins BITS, Dubai he will not be able to meet the residency requirements by the end of engineering and his PR will be lost...
