I want to study computer programmer diploma and have shortlisted 2 colleges-Seneca or Sheridan
I want to apply as soon as possible so this is urgent!!!!!!! ???
I have tried to look up reviews of these colleges online, but have found contradicting opinions about both the colleges.
Some said Sheridan is good for technical courses but consists of mainly Indian students and only a small number of students from other countries.is this true??
I also heard that Seneca has very low graduation rate?is this true??
Can anyone help me decide which college is better for the computer programmer course?????????
Should I look at other college too???????????
Seniors please help me???

Have you actually looked at the program structure, courses, co-op opportunities, links to the industry, student resources etc between the 2 colleges?

Or do you just want to pick one that is more famous/ well known?

both are major destinations for students from India. and pass/ fail ratios will probably be the same as if in any college in India i.e. all over the place. Not sure how that would affect you picking a college based on that.

I think you will get a better satisfaction out of your education if you pick the right program instead of the right college. just my 2 cents.

P.S. computer science programs are not easy to breeze through, so you will have to work hard regardless of where you go to school.

Good Luck

could somebody explain in detail what life is in a college in Canada?I haven't seen a thread that describes how life is in college.
could someone please explain in detail their timetable, how assignments are assigned?
how much do you spend on food, rent, mobile etc.?
how you felt the first time you landed in Canada and how do you feel now?
if working part time, how much time do you get to work etc?

All colleges are same. They provide same education in same patterns.
I think people should be more concerned about course and visa rather than colleges.

How we can know which colleges is good for you ?
So it is always better to do research by yourself , instead posting again and again.
I have seen hundreds of thread in this forum , which answers all your question.
But you need to spend a little time to find them.

This will answer some of your question.

I know eh!

everybody wants answers but nobody wants to do the grunt work of researching. I can't tell you how many PM's i get asking for my advice comparing 2 universities or colleges. I get bizzare requests like "please compare these 2 (insert city/ college/ university) based on courses, tution, living expenses etc ". WTF! Google is your best friend. Checkout Craigslist for rental ads and you will get an idea of how much rent will be. Food and stuff is pretty standard all over the country and i'm sure there are tons of threads that outline these expenses as a whole (none will be exactly what you end up paying, its just a ball park figure).

Please do some research on your own and you will find the answers to most of your questions. if you still don't, ask in the forum. I'm amazed that some people can't even do the basic research on their own (which is the first rule of education in Canada, NOBODY here is going to do $hit for you if you make it here) and want others to make the decisions for them.

sorry to hijack this thread
