sending RCMP

One of my friends told that we have to send RCMP report to CIC without opening (as it is sealed envelop that we receive)

I don't see this as a requirement or instruction anywhere. Can anyone clarify pls.
I am just curious to check the report, if it is fine.

Haha... Sorry I don't have an answer to your question. But do you have any reason to worry about the content?

Nothing as worry. Just checking, why not we can open when we paid for the service and the report is about us!!
Other side, if it is really the requirement NOT to open, I don't want to mess up with my $50. 8)

You may be right. Why can't you even send a copy of the report since PR applicant can sent copies of the PCC from other countries. Does the envelop say something like: DO NOT OPEN. INVALID IF SEAL IS BROKEN?

No, nothing written like that... Also, I know we have to send the original copy only..

I think it's okay to open the letter - they even mention in the email I got from cic requesting the RCMP certificate that I can scan and submit it by email.

I did my RCMP from commissionaire. When asked them, they said that we can open the envelop and you can take copy if you want, but send the original to CIC.

In my last comment I mentioned you could scan and send it - I was wrong - their email did mention it but I got a reply from CIC today asking to mail the originals. Apologies!
