Friends I am little confused on whether to apply for FSWP 2014 Program. I have all documents ready with me including WES and IELTS results.
I am an indian citizen currently working in US on H1b visa. As per my understanding if my application is accepted by Canada immigration authority then I have to submit my passport to Canadian embassy for visa stamping. But I cannot send my passport to Canadian embassy in India because currently I am staying in US and I cannot send passport outside of US. It will be a great help if you can advise me whether I can send my passport to Canadian embassy in Washington DC in US instead of sending passport to India.
I am staying in US for past 2 years on H1b visa. And my wife is in US for past 1 year.
Only if I can send the passport to Canadian embassy in US then only I can think about submitting the application for FSWP 2014.

Appreciate your advice.

Thanks

if you send your application at this point of time then also CIC will take minimum of 9-12 months before they ask you for your passport and that too if everything goes smoothly and as per the timeline.

Also if i would be you and CIC asks me for my passport for PR stamping i would definately choose PR compared to H1B.

rest you are the boss :)

Thanks Friend. I was worried about after doing all the efforts If I couldn't sent the passport for stamping, all the efforts will be waste eventhough passport sending is the last step and it might take time to reach that point. So thought of checking do I really need to proceed with application. Actualy I am also bit confused about should I prefer PR over my current H1b. My plan was to continue in H1b and if I didnt get the green card process initiated by my company then switch over to Canada.

Hope everything happens for good :)
