Sending passport with I-94?

Hi,

I am curious. If you are currently in the US as F1(student), and Canada visa office asks for your passport for Visa stamping, are you going to send your passport with I-94? Isn't it too risky to send your passport without knowing when it's gonna come back (especially if you have your i-94) attached?

how did you guys do it?

if you go personally to new york, are you going to get the passport stamped within the day?

Don't they just require photocopies of your passport?
I don't see anywhere that they ask for the original passort.

skilledpro is asking about the final stage where you are asked to submit your passport for the visa stamp.

you have the option of going to the consulate in buffalo in person, and having it stamped and picked up on the same day.

1) Bufallo - Can I take the passports of my family myself and collect them ?
2) Is there an office where this stamping can be done somewhere on the west coast? I travel to LA often for 3-5 months jobs
3) How much time does it typically take if they send the passport by mail?
4) Does New Delhi Consulate allow you to pick passports in person from Bufallo?
5) How much time does it typically take if they send the passport by mail from New Delhi?
