I am sending my application through fedex and I want to insure it, but writing a large amount on a small package might get noticed by customs and I dont know what'll happen after that. I dont want any delays.

For the people that have done this already, did you get insurance when you shipped the application, and if so, what amount did you write?

Thanks,

You only insure things that have monetary value, as a safeguard in case the item is lost/destroyed. An application package will not have a monetary value. FedEx, while they might reimburse you the cost of the shipping, will not give you some insured amount if they lost your application.

Our applications, both PR/OWP and visitor extension were sent with Fedex and had no problem. We were notified when they got signed for, that was what was most important to us.

Agree, you don't insure documents, you just want to be sure they get there. That is what the signature is for, and all couriers provide this automatically. Your insurance should be keeping multiple copies of everything you sent (except for originals obviously).
