Hi,

I mailed my Application to CIO Sydney on November the 5th without the police clearance certificates. I just recieved my PCC from India, how do I mail these to them? Do I need to attach the red sticker on the PCC's or can I send it as a normal document? Does anyone know the validity of the PCC's from India?

Thanks
kia99

Hi kia99,

Since you have already sent your application to CIO, do not send PCCs now until you receive your AOR. I am sure it will not affect your application process in any way. At later stages, CIO or Visa office will ask you to submit your PCC, then only you send them.

The PCCs are good for one year usually.

Hello Sarayu & Kia99,

Could you please help me with following extended questions on PCC:

(a.) I believe the PCC's if not submitted with initial application to CIO should go to respective VO office ? I have PNP nomination from AINP and planning to submit my application to CIO this month without PCC's. When will I come to know which VO is processing my case ?

(b.) Do we wait for VO to request PCC ? At what stage do they request ?

(c.) I need to apply PCC from 3 countries, in case I need to wait for VO to request them what is the right time to apply ?

Please excuse for some basic questions as I am not very sure on how things work after we submit to CIO. We get (1.) AOR from CIO --> (2.) AOR from VO ? --> (3.) Docoument request etc. Really confused with initial steps and when do they request additional docs.

I appreciate your time and response to my queries. Thanks in advance.

Hi gn53914,

Please see below my answers in red color.

(a.) I believe the PCC's if not submitted with initial application to CIO should go to respective VO office ? I have PNP nomination from AINP and planning to submit my application to CIO this month without PCC's. When will I come to know which VO is processing my case ?

Yes, if you can not submit your PCC's along with your application to CIO, they will ask you to send them directly to your VO at later stages. I believe your AINP Nomination should show your VO, because mine shows as CPP Ottawa. And we don't know when exactly you need to submit the PCC's to VO. I have got PCC's from three different countries within 20 days and I have included them to my application when I sne tmy application to CIO. I don't think it takes max more than a month to get all the PCC's in your case as well.

I suggest you, just inquire the process how to get the PCC's from the countries where you lived and be ready with the application and fees process and all. Once VO requests you to submit the PCC's, you just apply immediately so that you can save some time.

(b.) Do we wait for VO to request PCC ? At what stage do they request ?

Yes, we have to wait until VO asks for the PCC's. Like I said, we can't tell when they are going to ask you. But most probably they might ask you when they start working on your criminal background.

(c.) I need to apply PCC from 3 countries, in case I need to wait for VO to request them what is the right time to apply ?

You have to wait until VO asks you to submit your PCC's. I Think you are aware that PCC's are valid only for one year.

Please excuse for some basic questions as I am not very sure on how things work after we submit to CIO. We get (1.) AOR from CIO --> (2.) AOR from VO ? --> (3.) Docoument request etc. Really confused with initial steps and when do they request additional docs.

Yes, this is the right sequence that you mentioned above. If CIO thinks that your application is NOT COMPLETE, they will simply return your application package to you. They will not process further or they will not request for any further documents. But if at later stages if VO need any further supporting documents, they will contact you.

Hope this helps you. Please send me personal message if you still have any further questions.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

Sarayu,

Really appreciate your time and help on this. Thanks much for this detailed answer. My one of the countries from where I need to get PCC is US.. and the best turn around time for their FBI PCC is 7 weeks +. This concerns me a bit.. I was just thinking that in case I get my second AOR from VO, can I initiate my PCC at that stage ? In case I get them before they specifically request the same, Can I send them with my reference file no. to VO ? Hope they can simply update my file with this.

Hi gn53914,

You are most welcome. We are here just to help each other. I was really in a very bad situation some time back when my application was returned two times back to me...July group helped me a lot. So, am just trying to help to other applicants with the info what I am aware of.

Yes, FBI says 7 weeks which is max time frame, but usually you get it for within 3 weeks. I got just in 2 weeks.

I think you wait until your VO requests you to submit PCC's. I know you can save a lot of time if you get your PCC's before VO asks you...but don't know whether they are valid or not if you get the PCC's before they request you.

I have seen your PM on my email.

Thanks,
Sarayu.
