Send initial documents to Sydney NS -How many it will take to get case number

Hi

I applied for canada PR from USA, I sent the initial documents to the Sydney NS on June 24 ,So far i didn't recieve case number . But i deducted the $1300 from my card.Can any one help me how many days it will take to recieve Case number ? whether they will send the case number to the email address ? can some one please let me know that would be really helpful

I got charged in early August 2010 and AOR came 2 months later..
