Hi,

I have a quick question.

I was working for a company for 20hrs a week throughout my two years of studying in Canada and was getting paid bi-weekly (26 times a year)
I have left that company and got employed at a new company for 20 hours a week and it is related to my field in which I am studying for.
The only difference is, they pay semi-monthly, which is only 24 times a year. (compared to 26 times) This is raising a question in my mind as on my pay slips it will say for example: March 16th-March 31st = 43.33 Hours. When you break this down into two weeks it equates to 21.67 hours per week, even though I am only working 20 hours a week they are recording it for 15 days and subsequently paying me for that. (As they are semi-monthly pay periods)

A full time employee would look like the following: 2080hrs / 24 = 86.66.
As I am a part time employee, mine looks like this: 2080 / 24 = 86.66 / 2 = 43.33

Will the officer have a hard time understanding that I am paid semi-monthly as a pose to bi-weekly?
On the surface it appears to look like I am working more than 20 hours a week, but as I am paid semi-monthly, the pay periods differentiate from bi-weekly.

Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks!
