Hello guys,

Asking all self employed people to come and connect and share your experience on how and in what way you are preparing to showcase your work experience as "self employed".

Remember, the more inputs, the more we can help and guide each other.

Anyone???

For my self-employment I'm gathering employer references with business cards, contracts, invoices, bank transactions. Will this be enough? It's a foreign work experience.

You also tax returns/ tax statements

I am also in the same boat !! have understood that I'll have to show the hell amount of paperwork to prove my self employment such as bank statements, tax returns, invoices, customer/supplier references.

Thanks guys for sharing the inputs. Glad I finally got some people under "SELF EMPLOYED" category. Well I am planning to include the following post-ITA.

1. Incorporation Certificate - I am running a business from June 2011. It is a Private Limited "Internet Media" Company while all the work done remotely.
2. Company's ITR - since from June 2011
3. Business Profile
4. Invoices - some from each year as well as the email conversation (as part of contracts/agreements) between client and me.
5. Letters from second director and shareholder stating that I am working full time since from June 2011.
6. My ITR - from second year of company's operation
7. Letter from my bank stating the company having current account in the bank since from June 2011.

Any other thing guys if you can think of please share as it will help each one of us.

Self-employed (freelancing) since 2012 and I'm intending to send similar documents you mentioned.

Fortunately, I have one main client and some of my work is public, so CIC can check for themselves if they like.

Besides tax returns, I will probably include individual payments from clients into my bank or PayPal account and match those with invoices.

Will you be sending all invoices or just some for each year? How do you choose which ones?

No ITA, yet. Fingers crossed for next draw! :)

Hello Mate,

Well the same goes for me as well as you shared - I am into editorial work mainly and got mine own publications (with over 10,000 published work in mine 9 publications over the web). I am going to share the live URL (few, each from every year).

Further over all invoices - I think and thought on some because for per month, I have almost 25 to 50 invoices every month, so if I combine them for four years, it is going to be a big bunch, say 1000s of invoices, which practically is not possible at all to provide. So, I come to the conclusion that I will include the bigger invoices from the companies which are real big in nature.

Other than this, my IELTS is on schedule for coming October, hoping it will attain me CLB9 in this shot itself. BTW what's your CRS?

Best,
K

P.S. Keep connected as it is really very hard to find the self-employed person here in this forum. Message me up for any discussion, I will be happy to help.

Self-employed here too. The most important thing is the reference letters or reference letter from your client(s).

Hey,

Can you please elaborate on how you able to get the reference letters PLUS what the content they put in for you? as honestly what I see her for most of self-employed, getting reference letter is difficult, so on discussing things up, email conversations with clients discussing what to do followed by the invoice raised as well as the payment proof, does make sense that the work has been done.

Best,
K

10,000 pieces of published work is amazing!

My CRS is 452. Fingers crossed for the next draw. :)

Good luck with your IELTS!

I was very lucky because I had only one client that I worked with for about 3 years. They basically gave me a ref letter in CIC's format stating that I was a client of theirs, my daily rate, hours worked, job title and duties. In addition to that I included my monthly invoice for 6 months, 6 months payslips, certificate of incorporation, salary bank statements and tax returns.

Well that is good mate. But for others, well the thing as I mentioned in earlier messages make sense, believe and hope that CIC will not make a mess as in actual it is asking for "documentation" to proof the business activities with the clientele (with including invoices).
