Hi everyone,

I am planning to apply for PR as Self Employed Worker Program in Quebec. I can provide all the documents needed such as letter of reference from 2 companies that i have been working as Freelance Graphic Designer, freelance contract services...For the evidence of income, those companies have been paying me by cash, no bank statements or tax return record. So i want to know if this is ok to apply? Or if anyone has this same issue or a solution, please advise.

Many thanks,

P/S: These companies are at international level with lot of international shows, brands...And I involved on many projects when i work for them.

Getting paid by cash is fishy enough and not having tax records or notice of assessments for the money earned sounds really really fishy. You will have a hard time convincing the immigration department with just reference letters. Good luck.

Thanks @nikhil56,

I had all Cash vouchers in the last 2 years, does that help? Also i have all the portfolio to prove my projects as well.
Thanks,

Why I am asking is because self employed workers and investors application goes thru a lot of scrutiny and at some point in time they will ask for proofs. You have to declare all the payment earned in cash and your portfolio in the application form. But if they ask for proofs for the income earned, self declaring is not enough, you will have to provide your own tax documents from your country even if the company do not provide tax slips.

Also on another note, check for other immigration programmes in Canada if you qualify for it. Quebec immigration is the slowest and often the most uncertain/red taped immigration system nowadays.
