I'm working as a software developer in a company through an agency.
We signed an independent contractor agreement that i am the sole-proprietor and the agency will pay me biweekly. Income tax is not deducted but CPP and EI are deducted from my pay.
My duties are like regular employees, working 8 hours per day and the contract is for one year.
Am I not eligible for CEC due to my self-employment status? Someone please answer this.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
"Any periods of self-employment or unauthorized work will not be included in calculating the period of work experience [R87.1(3)(b)]"
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/econ/cec/work.asp

If you tick the option of "self-employed" then your work experience will not be counted. If you are actually in a de facto employee-employer relationship then you can make an argument so that your work experience is counted.

You can use the CRA website to help you assess whether you are self employed or an employee.
