Hi.

I have a question on the self-assessment test in order to qualify as a federal skilled worker immigrant.

Within the test, under the adaptability section, the question asks you whether you have 1 year of Canadian work experience on a full-time basis to determine if you are eligible for the extra 5 points.

I do not have 1 year of "full time" Canadian work experience, but I have 4 years of "part time" Canadian work experience which is essentially equivalent to the 1 year of full time work experience in terms of number of hours worked.

Can I get the 5 points for having the part-time job experience? or I'm not eligible for the point just because my experience was not on a full-time base?

thank you.

Part time experience also counts.

Please refer to OP 06 manual.

• be full-time work, which, according to R80(7), is equivalent to at least 37.5 hours of paid work
per week. Full-time work experience requirement may be met by the equivalent in part-time
paid work experience, e.g. two part-time jobs held simultaneously. Experience can be
calculated by adding up the number of weeks of full-time work, i.e. 37.5 hours per week in
one job or a total of at least 37.5 hours per week in more than one job, in one or more of the
NOC categories. Periods of work of less than 12 months during the 10 years immediately

yes, indeed, but that statement refer to the length of work experience calculated for part III of the self-assessment test. what I'm asking is that whether I'll be eligible for the extra 5 points that I can get from "adaptability" section of the test.
