I have applied for the Selection Certificate for Quebec last year and just received an email saying that they intend to reject my application if I do not provide the following:
1) Translation of the documents for my spouse's masters degree.
2) Proof of social contributions and income tax.
What sounds ridiculous is that in case 1) the masters degree is not relevant as my spouse's 2nd degree in English would count for 3 points and the maximum number of points obtainable is 3.
Would anyone advise if I can just write back to them saying to 'forget' the masters degree or should I translate the certificate and booklet of list of modules etc for something like £150 when I know it won't count towards points? That is just money thrown out of the window.
In case 2) I have given a signed letter from the Inland Revenue showing all proofs like tax payments etc (except no mention of the contributions as National insurance) and I had given just that because it says on the original form that:
To certify the legality of your work experience:
• Proof of your personal social security contributions or proof of exemption from
payment of social security premiums
If you cannot provide proof of social contribution or proof of exemption from
payment of social security premiums, you must provide proof of payment of personal
income tax.
I cannot see what I have done wrong here. Can anyone please help me understand?
