selected by AIPP but work permit was refused??

Hello Guys

I was selected by aipp program and I have every docs in my hand.

Right now, I am living in Canada as a vistor. When I apply work permit in Canada last month, the application was refused. It said " you are not a person described in Immigration Legislation who can apply for this type of document from within Canada". So I need apply in my home country visa office?? did anyone know this ?

and how long do they usually give me for the work permit

Hope you found the answer. If not, as far as I know you can't change status from visitor visa to work visa from inside Canada, you have to do that from outside Canada. Another thing, even with AIPP you're applying for a work permit, which mean you are suppose to be here temporary so you have to prove you will leave Canada at the end of your contract (I know you have an AIPP and will apply for PR while in Canada, but that's how it works) and if you are living in Canada with a Visitor visa (which is only for temporary visit) they can easily assume you won't leave and might refuse your permit.
