Hi,

My Parents are currently in Canada based on Single entry visa based on PHAC route. Their current status as visitor expires in first week of August. I have already submitted an application for their extension but I am looking to find out other options regarding their multiple entry visa / super visa while they are in Canada. They are yet to give their biometrics but I paid biometric fees in their extension application.

Is there an option to apply for new multiple entry visa or Super visa for them while they are still in Canada assuming they will get extension for few months ??

I am not even sure if one can submit any new visa application be it multiple entry or super visa while they are inside Canada. My parents have some health concerns and they have no one to look after. I am more worried about time frame for new application from India which might take longer time to process due to Covid situation.

Humble request to forum members Kindly advise what option should I consider.

Thank you

What's your objective? Do you want them to stay in Canada longer without leaving?

If so, the only option is to continue to apply for extensions.

Getting a multiple entry TRV or super visa will not allow them to stay longer without leaving. Only an extension does this.

Thank you Scylla,

Yes, I am looking for options to make them stay for longer without leaving. This is the first time ever I applied for an extension and I am not sure how many extensions one can apply. Is it safe and worth applying for many extensions considering IRCC can keep record of this and this may create problem in any of future visa applications ?

At least one extension is likely to be granted. They will need to return time if they want to apply for something like a supervisa that would allow them to remain in Canada for 2 years if you have made enough income in Canada to qualify.

If you want them to remain in Canada without leaving, then only an extension accomplishes that.

Technically there is no maximum number of extensions you can apply for. Sooner or later it is reasonable to expect that IRCC will refuse an extension and say that your parents need to return home. At that point they would need to return to their home country and you should have them live there for 6-8 months minimum before trying to return to Canada on another TRV or on a super visa.

Thank you Canuck78 for your time and information. Appreciated.
