Hello everyone,

I am seeking guidance regarding my Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) application after completing my Master’s program in Canada. I want to ensure my application is complete and transparent to IRCC.

My situation:

I completed a Master’s program full-time from Fall 2023 to Spring 2025.

Prior to my Master’s, I was enrolled full-time in a Certificate in Public Policy program. In Spring 2023, I took a scheduled and authorized break while waiting for acceptance into my Master’s program.

In Fall 2023, I was admitted to both the Master’s program (primary) and the Certificate program (secondary). I did not take any certificate courses and focused solely on my Master’s courses while maintaining full-time status.

In Winter 2024, I formally withdrew from the Certificate program and continued full-time in the Master’s program until completion.

Important note about my transcript: It only shows my Bachelor’s degree courses and the two semesters I was enrolled full-time in the Certificate program, but it does not specify the certificate program as I did not complete it.

I was previously refused a PGWP that i had applied based on my Bachelor’s program due to part time studenr status in fall semester.

My questions:

1. Should I explicitly mention the secondary certificate enrollment (which i did not complete) and Spring 2023 break in my Letter of Explanation, even though I am applying solely based on my Master’s program?

2. Are there any additional details or supporting documents I should include to clearly demonstrate that there were no unauthorized gaps?

3. Are there any other potential concerns I should proactively clarify to improve the chances of approval?

I would greatly appreciate any advice or insights from people who have been in a similar situation or are familiar with IRCC policies for PGWP applications.

Thank you in advance for your help!
