Security requirements for sponsoring my spouse......need help

Hello everyone, I have some questions, I have been livingin spain for 2 years now, i am going to start sponsoring my wife my child was born spain but she has her canadian passaport me too i was born in toronto.

Now my wife is from argentina, but her entire family lives in madrid, spain for over 6 years. In the sponsorship instruction manual for my wifes under the title security requirements, it states that i need a criminal check for my spouse and her family members that are not going to go with her to canada. i need to know if anyone is there yet or knows what to do????

No it doesn't. Only your spouse requires criminal records checks from countries where she has resided for 6 months or more since turning 18.

Only people who are eligible to be sponsored along with your wife (basically, any dependent children of hers who are not already Canadian citizens) would need a criminal clearance - and only if they are over the age of 18. Sounds like, in your case, it's just your wife who has to provide criminal clearances from anywhere she has lived for more than six months since turning 18 years of age.
