Hello,
I guess you mean to say Police Clearance and not Security Clearance. For Police Clearance it is normally asked along with the medical request as in my case. As for Security Clearance, the applicant has no involvement what so ever. It is totally done by CSIS without the involvement of the applicant.
Police clearance gives us Crim Check status on GCMS and Security Checak gives us Sec Check status on GCMS.
