Security Check

I've been here in Canada for a year on April 2010. I'm waiting for my nomination as a Provincial Nominee. I have read on the website that security checks are still needed. Where will I get it?Do I still need to get a police clearance here in Canada? How about getting NBI clearance from the Philippines? Please enlighten me. Just want everything to be available by the time my nomination is ready. Thanks a lot.

1. CIC/CHC does the Security and Background Check you don't do anything.
2. You don't require a Police Certificate from Canada unless asked by CIC/CHC. You do need police clearance certificates from every country where you have lived for 6 months or more since turning 18.
3. You really should read the instructions.

Thanks a lot PMM. Is it proper to get a police clearance in the Philippines now while waiting for my nomination? Is it better to send my application together with the police clearance to CIC/CHC or I can forward my application for Permanent Resident first then the police clearance will be to follow? Thank you.

I'm a resident of Manitoba and will go for a month vacation in Alberta. Is it ok to appear to the consulate of Alberta ( Calgary or Edmonton) to get my NBI clearance or better to do it in Winnipeg since I'm a resident in that province? Thanks again.
