Hello everyone! I'm going to mail my Citizenship application this coming Monday.
I just have a question about the Work and Education History section. The question asks that if I answered "Yes" if I have worked in the past four years then I have to provide records of my employment.
Did any of you include your records of employment when you mailed your Citizenship applications?
I remember on my Permanent Resident application I saw a similar question but I don't remember if the question asked to proved my employment record. And I also never included that with the PR application.
I would appreciate your suggestions and opinions about this. Thanks :)

Some did include them and some didn't. I personally did and I'm glad I did. If you have them ready, it doesn't hurt if u include them.

Hey thanks. I still keep my pay stubs for my employment from 2009, but I left them in a box with my good friend in a different province so I can move them to my current province.
Oh I guess I should have asked for a Record of Employment from my former bosses before I left each work place.
I will have to submit the application without the work records. I hope they accept them :)

It's now mandatory as required in the instruction of the question. It's not mentioned elsewhere, but if it's on the application form, it supersedes all other sources. Remember that CIC updates application forms and ensures their quality before any other written documentation such as the guide. Make sure to include: current letter of employment, if applicable, and notices of assessment, T4 and T4A etc.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I am planning to provide a Letter of Employment from one of the past companies as a record of employment. But I am not sure about the exact start date because it was about 5 years ago and I didn't really keep the dates in mind.
Do the first and last days of my employment with this company have to be exact or can there be like a one day difference?

For example: I am not sure if I started exactly on 8th November, so I can put either 7th November or 9th November? Thanks for your help.

I think under work, the form only asks for month and year, but if you are not sure put what you think it closest to the actual number and include a cover letter explaining you are not sure of exact dates so you put your best estimate. This way, you are covered even if you are off by a day or so.

You can request your T4 and/or notice of assessments from CRA again. Or if you can sign up for an account through CRA website and print your T4s from there.

For record of employment, just call and request them from Service Canada. Each of your past employers is required to send this information to Service Canada within a certain period after your employment ends.
