Hi All ,

I am getting ready to send my docs for stage 2 I have few questions regarding this :

1) I am currently living in US and I believe I have to send my second stage docs to Buffalo,NY . Is this true no matter where you live in US / are there any other VO s in US where I can send my docs (other than Buffalo,NY) ?

2) I am in process of getting employment verification letters , I can get letters from my last two employers (with my job duties and responsibilites mentioned clearly) I cannot get similar detailed letters from other previous employers . I have experience letter from them , but not job duties mentioned . I want to know if this is okay .

3) For funds proof , can I show my Indain stock statement as proof / Do I need to show only liquid cash/FD proof ?

4) My first stage application was recieved in CIO on 22-Jun-2010 . Will I be subjected to 1000 applications cap (per category) ?? .

5) My daughter is born in US and is a US Citizen . By including her in my Canada PR application , am I jeopardizing her US Citizenship by any means ?

6) Will my previous employer(s) be called by CIC for employment verification ?
If yes , I want to give them headsup about the same

Any replies for above questions are greatly appreciated .

Thanks for your time & attention

Hello urchandu,

1- I think it's Buffalo. You can check link to confirm: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/apply-where.asp

2- you have to try to submit all letters up to date, if you cannot provide these letters as you said, you need to submit the old letters but you write an explanation letter on the reasons. This is mentioned in the VO specific guide.

3- funds should be liquidatable and convertible, I think stock should be ok. Read what CIC defines as funds: "Indicate the amount (in Canadian dollars) of unencumbered, transferable and available funds that you have. This amount can include the value of any property that you own, but should not include jewellery, cars or other personal assets."

4- No. You are pre 26 June, hence, you are not part of the cap.

5- no, at all.

6- Maybe. We've seen people had their employers called while others not.

Good luck and cheers

Hi Mezo2009, do you know if it's CIO that calls for verification or it is the local visa office? and do you know what questions are usually asked? Thanks!

Hi, it's usually the VO that questions and authenticated through various checks. Regarding question types, no one knows. I'm not sure if anyone in the forum shares such experience.

Good luck
