We are Permanent resident since 2 year but 6 months back my wife went to Pakistan and intends to stay there forever and is not communicating in any manner with me.

Is there a way I can marry here in canada again as my wife has left canada forever and does not want to keep any relations in future.I cannot divorce her as there is absolutely no contact details of her in Pakistan.

What does the canadian law says about such situations?

Cheers

In situation like this, you still believe in marriage? I'm not an expert, but I think you need file a divorce first and then marry.

Canadian law says that you have to divorce your first wife before you can marry your second wife.

Canadian law says that you can only be married to one person at a time so in order to marry again, you must first end the current marriage.

Canadian law says that if you have been living in Canada for one year or longer, you can file for divorce in Canada regardless of where your spouse is. I do not know what steps you need to take to file for divorce. A separation of one year is usually required so I do not know if you can declare your separation at some time in the past, for example when your wife left or if you must declare it from the day you file. You should see a lawyer for those details.

Once your divorce is finalized, you can re-marry.

May be, if your "to be" wife is Pakistani or another citizen and has her own PR / Canadian citizenship, you can go to Pakistan or her country and get married. In this way you will not have to declare you marriage to authorities.

Just my thought !!

Sure - they can do this. However this second marriage won't be legal from a Canadian standpoint and therefore won't be recognized for immigration or any other purposes.
