Recently, an Indian couple have been living in my neighborhood. They are also planning to apply for Canada visa. They have a problem with the Original Sealed Transcripts. Both have done their degree from an Indian Uni. How will they apply for sealed Transcript?. They already have their Original Transcripts with them. Can any one help them with their experience on how to get "Sealed Transcripts from an Indian Uni"when living in the UK. Pls share your experiences.

Cheers!! :D

its very simple, they have to contact their univ. in india and give them the forwarding address where the univ. will send the sealed transc.

Yeah.. It seems they have sent many mails to their Uni but no reply and they are not able to contact any person out there. Is there any case here, who has sent the Final docs to London CHC w/o sealed envelops from Uni but the original Transcripts in normal cover??and got successful?
let me know your thoughts!!

cheers!!

You can get the transcript your self and have it notarized then the effect would be the same as an originally sealed transcript.

Hi there,
You can send an E-mail through the case specific enquiry and get the doubt cleared. I did the same with Canadian High commission in India and they said that we can send Notarized copies if original Transcripts are not provided in sealed envelops by the University. So I hope you can send the Notarized copies of your Transcripts or just mail them to get clarified of your doubt. They will reply very fast mostly the same or next day. Hope it helps.
All the Best

No, it has to in a University sealed envelope, with the universities stamp on it.

You are right, I didn't read the case properly, and I was thinking of school application not the original transcript required by CIC.

i did not know that CIC also required sealed transcript, i thought only univ. required that if you need an admission in a univ.
there is another way to do although its not the right way but not illegal if you really attended and pass the univ.
one of my friend did it, he made number of attempt to univ. even send someone to univ. but as you know some of the procedures is not very easy or almost none in some countries as compare to north American and European countries and those countries do not understand the importance of deadlines etc. so after he was unscussful he asked one of his friend in backhome to find other way and his friend managed to get the univ. envelope and stamp and the job is done. as i said, this can only be done if your education record is genuine.

As PMM said you need transcript in University sealed envolope. If you can not get the same you can arrange for notarize transcripts but it will involve more background checks delaying the application and may not satisy IO. He may ask for Original transcripts sealed in UNiv letter again.

The above opinion is based on answer that I received to my query from CHC

I think the best way for your neighbours is to contact some one in India who can personally go and arrange for the transcripts from University

As I mentioned before notarized mark sheet is not a perfect option. The perfect option is transcripts in Univ sealed envolope.

If not available try notarized mark sheet but it may not work as CHC has mentioned in reply to my query. Please do not send the original one, no where is it asked for or recommended. In case it gets misplaced, it will be a big trouble

Although transcripts in sealed envelopes are preferred and are what is requested, i have seen a couple of cases on this forum where people got through even with notarized marksheets.
One of the members is narinder1981 who submitted notarized marksheets and had no issues with his application.
Hence if you are unable to obtain transcripts in univ sealed envelopes, the best is to provide notarized marksheets along with a letter explaining why you couldnt obtain the transcripts.
