Hi!
My friend has applied for SDS Visa, he was/is pursuing Aviation ( Commercial Pilot's License ) from Insignia College in BC. He got a refusal with the following message:
The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.
Profile
10th : 9.4
12th : 78%
Undergrad: 7.01 GPA/ 10 ( Graduated with a degree in EnTC from Symbiosis Pune )
IELTS : Lowest Band 6, Overall 6.5
Finished Undergrad in 2021, passed the DCGA exams in India.
SOP clearly mentioned the transition from a Bachelor's to Aviation as a passionate goal and plans to return to home country after his courses, since he specifically chose a course that is DCGA approved, so that he can get an Indian flying license
Financial : showed 130k CAD with a sponsorship letter from his dad, already paid 1yr tuition + 10k GIC
Timeline
Applied 2nd June
Biometrics 7th June
Medical Update 31st August
Refusal 1st September
Next Steps
1: Applying for SDS is a no-go bc there is no point of wasting 3-4 months
2: Apply for Non-SDS and hope it goes a little faster, since it is processed locally
3: We are planning on traveling to South Africa in a few days, and was wondering if applying from there ( legal status, visitor visa) would be any beneficial/faster?
4: Officer's notes ( Again waiting for 30-45 days looks like a waste of time ).
P.S : Also trying to apply for an F-1 Visa ( USA ), does anyone has any experience on that? Will a Canadian student visa refusal be a negative point ?
