IELTS Request
sent along with file
Hi ,

Need your help. I have given my IELTS exam and my scores are

Listening : 7.5
Reading : 6.5
Writing : 6
Speaking : 6
---------------------------------------
Total Average Score : 6.5

I need to calculate my IELTS score by CLB score so need some clarification

As per CIC website, English language requirement CLB 7 is equivalent to scoring 6 on the IELTS. 4 points are awarded for each of the four language abilities, meaning that all candidates that meet the mandatory minimums on all language abilities will have at least 16 points.

It also states that the points will be awarded for each module of IELTS differently (points will be given for each language ability independently)

CLB LevelAbility: Speaking Ability: Listening Ability: Reading Ability: Writing Points per ability
7 6.0 6.0 6.0 6.0 4
8 6.5 7.5 6.5 6.5 5
9 and above 7.0 – 9.0 8.0 – 9.0 7.0 – 9.0 7.0 – 9.0 6

Based on the above given tabe chart my CLB calculation would be
Listening : 7.5 = 5
Reading : 6.5 =5
Speaking : 6 = 4
Writing : 6 =4
---------------------------------------
Total CLB = 18 Please advice if this is the right way of calculating ?

My points under the federal skilled workers category would then come to:
Education : 15
Work experience : 21
Age : 8
IELTS secondary applicant : 5
IELTS primary : 18 (based on the above calculation)
Total Score : 67

Am I eligible to apply or do I need to give IELTS test again. Request you to confirm.
