Hello
I submitted my profile in august and my score was 425. Today I got a message from CIC about an update in my profile. I checked but couldn't find any new message. I went through my score and it now says 438. This appears very strange to me. Does anyone have any idea about this?
Thanks

do you have siblings in Canada? They said applicants with siblings in Canada will soon start getting extra points.

Is it the anniversary of your work experience? i.e, did your work experience complete an additional year?

Work anniversary... nope I don't think so cuz I started working in may 2014 so still 5 months remaining for another year to get completed. I did work full time for about 4 months in my summer break from school.. do you think that would count ?

We had the exact opposite...
We too applied (created profile in Aug'14 end) and today we got a mail from CIC that there is an update for our profile. Upon checking we realized that our score has been reduced by 25 points under 'CRS - Skill Transferability - Foreign Work Experience'.

Oh gosh! So sorry to hear that.. I am really worried as to what are they going to do. Upon checking my submitted application, I found there is no work history and I had to refill it as leaving it blank would have made my profile ineligible. This is so weird. I transmitted but still getting the same increased score. Don't know what's happening

Please check in your profile which part (under which section/criterion) of your score has increased?

Once you know that you can probably zero in on why it is increased...Anyway its a good thing though.

I calculated my working months aND I feel it's the work anniversary. How many points would you think should increase. It was 425 it's is 438 now. Only 13 points for another year?

Why would they reduce your scores after submission?

You are not alone. The same thing happened with me too. When I had created my profile, I was awarded 489 points. But when I got the ITA, my points automatically increased to 494.
Now as far as the reason is concerned, it may vary from yours.
When my profile was created, with details of both my spouse and I, the points came to 489. But then the ITA came, they had removed my wife's points and had calculated the scores entirely based on my profile. So it increased to 494.

Did you make any changes in your EE profile in any way ?

Have you mentioned in your profile about your relatives in canada ?

What are the start/end dates for your jobs for which you claimed points? How about the start/end dates for your main NOC job? It could be that as time has gone by, you have one year less of experience than what's needed to get the full points for that section.

You are right about that...except that we have only one NOC thats it, so there is no question of main or otherwise.

Having said that...most part of the minimum 3 years experience required is accumulated at the fag end of the last 10 years. So as time is progressing count of that experience is reducing day by day.
But simultaneously as time is progressing it is also adding to my already existing experience (of 7~7.5 years ago) since i am currently working under the same NOC.

The problem here is the EE (background logic of TOTAL experience calculation) isn't counting my current (ongoing) job experience (entered as a separate line item at the bottom of the form - if you remember filling the EE form where i checked the 'Current job' box) and adding to the previous to arrive at the Total required. This is a major flaw in the CIC EE Logic which i think they aren't aware of yet.

Here the assumption is in the clause of past 10 yrs job experience the end date (i.e. today) is dynamic and keeps moving with time along with the beginning of 10 yrs period.

While i agree this is a borderline case scenario but if my current job experience is taken into account i will always be 2 month surplus vis-a-vis the minimum requirement.

Don't know how to resolve this issue...

Any help of suggestion from seniors is welcome.
