Score improvement

Hi Guys,

Is it worth spending £150 on a new ielts test to improve my score from 398 to 408?

In my last ielts I got CBL nine in three but CBL 8 in listening, I am think I can get CBL 9 in all.

But is it worth it? Thanks in advance.

On the face of it, looks like it isn't worth it because you'll seemingly add only 10 points by spending all that cash!

1. Recalculate your CRS score if you have CLB 9 + in all sections and see if it improves by ONLY 10 points. I'm skeptical, it should be higher. Use this link to calculate (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp)

2. If your IELTS is fairly recent (within 6 weeks), you can consider re-evaluation. They typically take another 6 weeks to process and refund the fees if there is a change in score after re-evaluation. Check here or with your test centre directly (http://www.ieltsessentials.com/results/request_a_re-mark.aspx)

Age= 31
Education= masters degree
Ielts= L-7.5 R-8 W-7.5 S-8.5
Spouse Ielts= L-5.5 R-6.5 W-7 S-8.5
Work Experience= 4 years

So now I have 398, pls how much will I have if I improve my listening to CBL 9.

actually your score will be 455 if you manage to get an 8.0 in the Listening part. You'll get more Skill Transferability factors points from 50 to 100 + 7 points from improving the Listening score from 7.5 to 8.0.
398 + 7 + 50 = 455

and a potential 461 if your wife manage to improve her score to CLB 9
