Hi Everyone!

I am in the process of finalizing my application to submit for citizenship. I have few questions regarding School Records for my children.

1- For how many years do I have to provide the School Records for my KIDS? ...last 3 years or 4?
2- I migrated from UK and my children went to school there for 5 to 7 years. During the lengthy, hectic and tiring move, I lost so much of my stuff and papers including my children's school certificates. I contacted the school in London, but they seem to be unable to provide me their school report cards as the school doesn't keep older records. I have last 3 years' school record from Canada, though. What should I do?

3- I am sending 3 applications altogether (1 for me and 2 for my kids). Do I need to attach their school certificates with my application package too?

CIC will look for last 4 years school record/documents from the date you sign the application. Since you have 3 years schooling in Canada and 1 year covers in UK. Try to find if you have any documents like transfer letters or something can show that they attended in the UK school.

If not then attach a note informing CIC that during your moving to Canada you lost some documents including UK school report cards and you contacted the school and they don't keep the older records to provide you. You many also call CIC call center to check what they say... hope for best..

CIC unlikely to buy the can't get the UK reports. The UK school records are computerized and issued as a minimum annually under the national curriculum to show the Key Stage process so it should be just a re-print. What year/level did your kids get to? If the school can't help you contact the Local Authority to see what can be done. As a minimum you need some formal letter from the UK saying the records are not available.

Well I beg to differ from you here.I have seen many reported cases where due to incomplete school records, applications were returned twice or sometimes thrice. You can search and find some cases at the same forum as well. One case which I could remember was of "mjm".So check his posts .

Well I am not sure about UK ,however there must be some local govt. education authority which should be having all records such as we have Calgary Board of education (CBE) here in Calgary.

Hope it helps!

Which London area/Borough were you living in for the 7 years you were there? Were you east, west, north, south or the Greater London area? Who did you pay your council tax too? Also what type of school was it public, grant maintained, a trust, private etc? Have you directly called the school rather than emailing them?

Try and contact the Newham Council or Barking Council (if they can provide a letter stating XXXX school your children attended) they may have all the records of public education/school.
