Hey guys,

Need your help urgently. I have received the invite and am in the process of uploading the documents and paying the requisite fees. While uploading the document and scanning through my passport, i recollected that I was refused a Schengen Tourist Visa from the German Embassy back in 2013. Unfortunately, on the letter it mentions Type C and reason being cited as '1'.

Unfortunately, I do not have any document or letter from the German consulate at this point in time as I may have misplaced it. Thus I cannot understand the reason for refusal. However as far as I recollect, we had booked tentative flight bookings from the agent and had booked a house through Airbnb.

Could someone explain what must I do in this case? There is a stamp of refusal on my passport.
  • Do I upload a LOE informing that my visa was refused.
  • Do i cite the exact reason (I do not know the exact reason for now)
I have written to the German Consulate asking for the exact reason and will call them too. AM hoping they reply to my email.

Please guide me through this process as I am miserably stuck, nothing to blame but my ignorance.

Thanks
Felix

Just relax! There will be some statutory questions in your application. 2 of those questions will ask you about any visa refusals. You just say Yes to those and explain it there. No need to panic! It was just a tourist visa rejection.

Agree. Many people get refusals but that doesn't jeopardize your Canada application. A well worded LOE is the only thing needed.

When you answer YES to the statutory questions, down the line after you've submitted your application, CIC will send you a Schedule A form to fill out. Therefore, it is better to fill it out now and send it with your LOE.

Try to remember why you were rejected and mention on the schedule A and the statutory questions. You can find online what Type C and point 1 mean. I recall there being a number of reasons (1 through 8 i think) for rejection in Germany. You can find out what point 1 means and that'll help you to remember what the actual reason was.

Be honest and answer in as much detail as possible.

No need to worry.

Thanks for your help guys. I will try to contact the embassy tomorrow to ascertain the reason. I do have a friends rejection letter where point 1 states 'a false/counterfeit/forged travel document was presented'. I assume this is the reason.

Unfortunately, when I initiated the visa process, the agent booked tentative tickets and our stay was done through Airbnb. I am unsure if this was the reason but I believe this could be.

Thanks once again for your help. Shall post once again after I am able to contact the Consulate. Will also proceed with filling the schedule A and keep it ready so I can upload it along with an LOE.

Regards,
Felix

Hi guys - Can someone confirm if the below is good to go. Tried to contact the German Embassy but no luck.

I, <name>, filed my application for Canada Permanent Residency (PR) under the Express Entry program on <Date>and received an Invitation to Apply on <date>. I would like to inform you that I have uploaded all the documents pertaining to the checklist, however in regards with the statutory questions I have answered the below questions as “Yes” with the following reasons below.

  1. Have you been refused refugee status, an immigrant or permanent resident visa (including a Certificate de selection du Quebec (CSQ) or application to the provincial nominee program) or visitor or temporary resident visa to Canada or any other country? --Yes
  2. Have you been refused admission to, or ordered to leave, Canada or any other country? --Yes
In November 2013, my ex-girlfriend, her aunt and me had approached the German Consulate for a tourist visa for our holiday plan to Germany and France particularly in Paris. As we weren’t aware of the entire process, we approached a travel agency to help us through the visa process and the flight bookings, however the stay was to be arranged by us through Airbnb. The travel agent filled in all the forms and proceeded with tentative flight bookings from his side through Lufthansa from India to Germany, Germany to France and our return journey from France to Germany and Germany to India. In the meanwhile, we did proceed with booking our stay in Germany and France (Paris) through Airbnb. Although the Germany stay was okay, the Consulate had some concerns about our Paris stay.

As we weren’t well versed with the geographies of France, we in error selected another province instead of Paris and proceeded with the bookings and the requisite payments to confirm our stay. The form however mentioned our stay to be in Paris thereby leading to a discrepancy in the details being provided. This discrepancy wasn’t accepted by the Consulate and the visa application was refused and since the visa application goes back in 2013, I seem to have misplaced the letter issued by the German Consulate. My Passport has a mention of C 1.

For your reference, I have attached the scan copy of the IMM 5669E form with my signatures and an annexure (Annexure – I) providing details of my Education, Personal History and Address.

I earnestly request you to consider processing of my Application further.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Regards,
Felix
