Can I get a piece of advice regarding the completion of the Schedule A Background Declaration form because of my personal circumstance? I am separated from my spouse, but not divorced. I applied with marital status as "legally separated" and my estranged wife is not accompanying me.
With reference to the section 6 below (Background Declaration), my estranged wife has been refused a visitor visa to Canada before. My question is; "do I need to tick “YES” since she is not accompanying me. And I already stated in my application that we are separated?" I am the only one travelling, so are the background form and questions applicable to me alone bearing in mind the sentence below in bold?
6. Have you, or, if you are the principal applicant, any of your family members listed in your application for permanent residence in Canada, ever:
YES NO
a) been refused refugee status, an immigrant or permanent resident visa (including a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ) or application to the Provincial Nominee Program) or visitor or temporary resident visa, to Canada or any other country or territory?
