i have some question on personal history and addresses

Currently iam in US from last 3.3 years. But i had stayed i UK and switzerland for periods upto 3 months at a time(cumulatively around 10 months). So do i need to put this in the personal history? )each entr/exit stamping on passport?

this is a problem as some of the places i stayed were hotels and some of them are closed(out of business)
what is to be done?

It does not matter if they are closed or not. Put it down. If you were on vacation, put it down. As long as it is longer then one full month, put it down. This is just to know where you had been in the past. I was away at my brother's house for two months and I put it down. No fear!!!

It does not matter. If you were there working for a company, just put down the time you were in each country, in activity, put down something like BUSINESS TRIP and location, put down the Country's name and in the company, put down your company's name. It does not ask what you were doing there anyways. Just do not leave any gap between your stays.

so in short i have to make sure i put all my passport entries in/out of india
i made almost 10 visits b/w 2003 and 2005 aug to US on B1 visa. (this is before i moved with familiy in dec 2005). so you suggest i put all my visits (5 visits to swtizerland,2 to uk and 10 visits to US) on paper.

More i do this application its getting complex

Do i need to include/mention those visits out of country which are less than 1 month long?
You cannot do that!! On the form there is space for month and year only so you do not need to be very exact. If you were employed by a company for say 3 years and during that time made several trips to other countries, just put the start and end dates with the company. Forget about details in the meanwhile. Remember it is your activites tat matters NOT arrival/departure dates on your passport.

Actually I think we can. On the example shown on the travel list I have to complete, it is:
04-2004 04-2004 6 days city, country type of travel

Therefore I do not see why it would be different in this case. I am just wondering if I should also add the nights spend in airports or train or bus??

Hello Manej,

I believe that you need to be honest and truthful to the CIC. But can you please use your discretion?!

Airport...Train....Bus....what are you talking about?!
