Scared to death - Economics and Application

Hey guys. So, I was just wondering if I could get some opinions. With all this chaos going on around the U.S and stuff, and all of these predictions of the dollar crash and just all out financial ruin throughout the U.S, I've been very frightened. I'm becoming paranoid thinking I won't be able to be with my fiance in time for all of these happenings to happen, because if they do there's no way we'd be able to get to one another again. Can I get some justification on if I should be feeling so frightened? I have all of our documents planned out and all I need is the FBI and medical then organize our papers, but more and more I've been fearing I won't have time to do this before whatever predicted disaster is going to hit..

EDIT: Well thank you all for your responses. Some of the more angry ones weren't warranted, seeing as I haven't been in the states for awhile and may have been ill informed. But the genuinely understanding comments from most of you are very appreciated, thank you and have a great day/night.

I don't know what chaos you're talking about, the US economy seems to be doing fine now. Also, US applicants have the easiest road to PR by far. You're worrying needlessly.

I'm just talking about all the uprest about the dollar collapse in 2014/2015 that's predicted and whatnot? Just searching it brings up page after page of horrible Armageddon like economic catastrophes, I don't know if I'm just searching the wrong thing and only getting negative posts or if I'm right to be so worried? I don't know much about economics so I am fairly ignorant on that, forgive me, but that's what I'm talking about.

US economy is going back in better shape,
right now economies are so interdependent that the collapse of one economy
would affect all others, therefore, for everybody's sake other countries have to come
to the rescue if something happen,

You should not feel worried,
Just keep going and do your stuff the best way that you can,
every day many things happen,
and we can be here and not anymore the next moment...

A little prayer before bed will help you...

I agree with awesomeg you can't change anything one way or the other. All the major economics of the world are intertwined and rely on each other to keep going. I am from the US and all my family is still there, I am in Canada as a visitor while going through the PR process or I too would still be in the US. From all I see and hear from friends and family things are no worse than say a year ago in fact from what I can see there may actually be more job openings than there were a year ago. It is good yet, not really, but it is getting better all the time.

Take each day as it comes. Do that which needs to be done in that day and try not to worry about the future. So many times the what if sort of mindset only holds us back from good things and robs us of our joy and happiness. Say a prayer and rest in the fact that God is in control and you will make it through any tough times you may face.

I think, what you need to do is not to worry too much. If you really concerned about the dollar crashing, then buy, some gold and silver, and cdn $, if you do not have money then you don't have anything to loose.

This is nothing, your application to Canada will probably be approved before 'the chaos' in America happens

I agree with everyone else. You should not worry needlessly about something that may or may not happen. Negative thoughts will bring negative energy your way. Just be positive and focus on things going right instead of worrying over things going wrong.

my guess is you are reading some anti-obama propaganda because the idiots in congress and senate do not want him doing his job? do you seriously think the economy is going to crash? no way! the us is still on of the biggest players in international trade and enterprise. we had a serious recession years ago, and it takes time to "get back to normal" (whatever that means). Yes, things are never going to be what they used to be like, which is a good thing in my book. for about 30+ years we ran around acting like superheroes thinking nothing can stop us, that we can buy everything we want, inflate the prices of big ticket items and not have it come back and bite us? please.

the us dollar is not going to crash, there is not going to be mayhem and disaster. everything will continue the way it is... congress c**kblocking the president from making any real change! stop worrying about silly propoganda from CNN and other right-wing know it alls and live your life. i can't even believe i just spent my time on this topic. How about educating yourself on REALITY? go pick up a REAL economics book or read an article from NPR. You are more likely to get REAL information there!

Stop reading the tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy sites. Stick to actual legitimate economic and financial sources, and no such doom and gloom scenario is projected.
