Hi!
I am new in this forum and this is my fist topic.
Why am I writing? Good question.
We applied for NB PNP and have been nominated in 2008.
Our PR application has been sent to Buffalo and forwarded to NY.

Now things changed and we don't now what to do.

My husbands emloyer has laid off all the employees. They always told us they will re-open soon, but the company is in receivership. They are at court, too. Since Thursday we know it for sure- they are not going to open again.

The medicals are done, we send some additional documents they requested and are expecting the PPR very soon.
Newest letters from the visa office seems to be to request a letter of referenz from the current employer togehther wth the PPR. But what to do if you don't have one? I mean- it is not our fault. The company owner was sewed for miss-management...

Thank you for help or advise.

Well, if the employer is gone for good, you can't get a letter therefore it is good to explain your situation in writing and send along with PPR.

Thx New Yorker,
It's just that I am starting to be scared about my family. My mind tells me that we can't do anything anyway... Just wait...

This is our second try. Our first we had in Ontarion with an very nice employer. She made many promises about supporting us, pp. And then my husband got his termination after the most important work was done. He was renovating a motel which is for sale now... Nice, ey?!
The we've been so happy to find this job. I absolutely loved the area from the first moment. We moved here. Again promises like "work for the next 40 years" and so on. Now 100 ppl. are laid off and chances to find a new job in the same area are very little. We are just mad that the owner did so much harm to so many ppl. He could have saved the comapy many times but he did not because he probably was feeling to safe and overheard the warnings. Hiding everthing from the others.. He hired 4 Immigrants, one of them was not nominated yet, the other two have all the same problems that we have.
We already spend almost 40000 $ here in Canada. When we arrived we did not bring much stuff, therefore we had to buy everything.
Immigration can become very expensive and we are running out of money soon.
Hopefully everything comes to an good end.

Hi again,
is there anyone having experience with a case like that?
Is explaining the situation really good enough?
