Scanned handwritten signature page

Hello,

I have a question regarding Schedule A: the updated June checklist mentions that form has to be signed in writing i.e. provide a handwritten signature next to the typewritten name in the signature box.

I did that but since the PA was outside Canada, I followed the instructions and got the form signed but to save time I had the signed page scanned and emailed to me. I took print out of the scanned signed page and submitted the application.

Has anyone done this? Would CIC return our application or this would not be an issue.

Note: I submitted my application in August.

Thank you.

would have been better if the hand written pages were mailed to you (like in a registered mail).......as IRCC prefer hand written signatures.

Anyway, you may have to wait to see if IRCC will accept the scanned copy.

IRCC usually sends acknowledgement of receipt (AOR) for a complete sponsorship package without any issues within 6 to 8 weeks.

Validating your form
To validate and properly fill out your (each person’s) Schedule A – Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) form(s):

After you successfully validate your form, print a copy. (You may also wish to save an electronic copy for your records.)
Provide a written signature next to the printed name in the signature section of the document. For principal applicants under the age of 18, this should be a parent or guardian’s signature.

Technically a scanned document is no different from a photocopy. Therefore it is not an original document. They could return the application or it might get overlooked and slip by. It depends on the agent believing the scanned copy to be "original" or not. Only time will tell.
