Hello!
My case is a little compicated.. i ve spent 1 year working in ON under the International Experience Programm. Then i met my current husband (he is a Canadian citizen). After my work permit expired i came back home (to Latvia - EU) for a month. Afterwards i came already as a visitor for 6 months (me and my husband were common-law partners at that time). This year in January we got married and right before i left Canada (in February) i found out i am pregnant. I decided to stay in my home country to give birth to a baby. So i am out of Canada for approx 9 months. Meanwhile my husband moved from Toronto to Regina (SK) because of work.

I know it is easier with jobs in Sask but the thing is i cant work. At least not right away because of the baby. And this is basically killing me. Because i dont want to leave my husband again in 6 months. I know family sponsorship is an option. But my husband gotta deal with his past convictions first (get his pardon). He is already working on it but again it takes up to 2 years. He obviously can try to sponsor me now.. but i am afraid it will refused right away and we will just loose money. Maybe he can apply for my visitors visa's extention?

I am a freelance artist, decorator. I ve been looking at self-employment opportunities.. even enterpreneur opportunities. And it just freaked me out cause the cost, deposit numbers are just ridiculous.

Maybe anybody can suggest anything as i know for a fact that it is easier to immigrate in Saskatchewan rather than in Ontario.

Thank you!

Regards

What are the convictions your husband has? If he has any convictions that involve violence against a family member or former partner/wife/girlfriend, these may create problems for a spousal sponsorship application. However if the offences do not fall in this category, he should be able to sponsor you as his spouse without any issues. If your husband qualifies to sponsor you and your baby, this is probably the best / easiest choice.

Did you work in Canada for at least a full year and was the work full time? If so, depending on the job you had, you may qualify to apply for immigration through Canadian Experience Class:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/apply-who.asp

To apply to immigration through the Saskatechewan Nominee program you would first have to secure a job offer in the province to qualify to apply (the cap for applications without job offers has been reached and the province is no longer accepting applications without job offers):
