Hello Everyone,

I will be applying for CEC next week but I am a bit confused about the employment reference letter. My employment experience is under NOC 2281. Please check the sample reference letter below and let me know if anything is missed there. I would really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

I am writing this reference at the request of ABC who is applying for Permanent Resident status of Canada.

In his position as Network Specialist, ABC is employed in our organization XYZ since December 2007. As a full-time employee, he is mainly responsible for implementation, migration, testing, troubleshooting of ISP customer networks. His duties include working with different networking protocols, providing network security, network quality of services, installing networking hardware and software, monitoring and analyzing network traffic, and solving advanced networking issues. He also provides network related support to the ISP clients. As Network Specialist, he is working 40 hours per week and currently earning $XX,000 per year. Besides salary, he is also receiving other benefits such as 2 weeks of paid vacation per year, extended health plan, dental plan etc.

I'm happy to provide further information if required.

Sincerely,

KKK
President

I suggest that you give the exact date that you started (ex. Dec 5, 2007) rather than just the month and year. Also- have you been in the same position the whole time?

Other than those small things, it looks good to me...

Just picking on this old thread..I got a reference letter as below:

********************************************************************************************************************

April 1, 2013

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am pleased to provide this letter to certify that "my name" is employed by "Employer Name" as a "my designation" since "date" till present. He is currently working under my supervision for our client "XXXXX" based out of city, province.

His official working hours are 40 hours/week and in his position as a "my designation", his main responsibilities and duties include:

Roles & Responsibilities

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any additional information or should you have any questions regarding the contents of this letter.

Sincerely,
Supervisor name & Contact details

******************************************************************************************************************

Does this format look fine since it does not address to CIC nor it says that the letter is being given to support my PR application.

1. You should put start date (absolutely mandatory).
2. Put your duties in serial bullet-form.
2. Include employer's email address, phone number (mandatory), and fax (if available).
4. Include employer's business card (if available)

I am an US citizen, currently trying to apply for a work permit. I will be staying in Quebec province for at least 6 months, and hopefully longer. I have requested my current employer to write a work permit reference letter so I can get that prior to leaving. My employer is hesitant on this, and I am wanting to know what he should write in the reference letter, since I will most likely be separating from this company to go live in Canada.

Would there be an alternative to the reference letter? I read online that somone used their paystubs to show previous employment. Is that a possibility if my company refuses to assist me?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. If more information is required in order to assist me, please let me know. Thank you.

I am also a US Citizen already living in Canada, for 6 years now. When I did this, I was asked specifically to submit a very detailed Employment Letter detailing my job title, duration of employment, salary and most importantly main tasks performed under my title. Paystubs as far as my experience went were never requested not suggested. Email me if you have any other questions compatriot :)

My question is about the employers or company (of my home country) from where I would seek my reference letter for the work I have done there. Please note I have work experience as Manager recruitment. Does CIC need to see tax returns or receipts?
