Hello everyone! I'm curious to know if anyone has sponsored their spouse in a same-sex marriage. How was your experience? What was the duration of the process? I'm particularly interested in whether the sponsorship for same-sex marriages takes longer. Thank you for your insights.

Additionally, my wife has overstayed her visa in South Korea, and the government has requested her to leave the country. Do you think this will impact the timeline of her sponsorship?

Same-sex relationships shouldn't encounter any more scrutiny than heterosexual relationships in Canada

I'd be very surprised to see your application suffering delays because of that, and if it does and you suspect that it's due to you being in a same-sex relationship I'm sure that you could raise some sort of complaint.
