Hello,

I am planning to move to North York, ON. I am moving with my family and I have two kids. I am looking for a very safe place to live, and also where I can find best Schools near by Yonge street (I am expecting a job in a company on Yonge Street). Could you please guide me with any specific apartment names. What would be the rent for a 2BDR apartment?

I heard that Brampton is one of the safe places to live. But it is pretty far from Yonge Street. Do we have public transportation from Brampton ? How long it will take to commute to Yonge street from Brampton?

Thanks in advance

Practically the entire N/York is pretty safe for families & raring kids. The area/s around Yonge/Sheppard & Yonge/Finch r especially good. We have a few friends residing there -- and the ones in Pemberton Apartments (Yonge/Finch) r having a nice condo environ...

Pls see the rental costs here:

Qorax
Ps.: Ppl residing in Brampton or Mississauga usually use their cars to work (in Toronto); or "Go Train" is always the next/best alternative.

Hi,

I personally opine that living in brampton while working in toronto is not a right choice esp for a newcomer for several reasons.firstly, its far and one needs to pay for toronto transportation and train charges, secondly one must own car and most newcomers need time to buy car or get driving licence, additionally there r charges for parking in several stations.thirdly trains r not as frequent as metros and last train from bramptom to toronto on certain days is 5pm(this im saying from my personal experience).

As long as u rent a condo along metro lines u sd b fine.for a decent 2Bed room condo rent varies from $ 1600-2000/mth and the best way is thru rental agent.remember u need not pay to agent, its the owner who pays.renting a condo after landing is the best option as u can see for urself neighbourhood, transportation, schools, conveyance stores etc etc.
U can even opt for 1bedroom with large den ( almost like room) to cut cost.

Good luck

Rgds,
Art.

Best is to rent a short stay accomodation for 10 days. Next look out for a good place that suits ur budget and convenience.
