It is sad, lives ruined for working -- I respect people who work to support themselves. Sometimes lives do not fit easily within the law, and the law that these people have broken is a real one, but not a moral one. The penalty that they will receive is greater than the harm they have committed, but I'm not here to argue this point, which I know many people disagree with. What I wish is that if there must be severe penalties for this crime, that they fall largely on the business. I have never held with punishing the worker and ignoring the employer. If it is a situation where the workers have committed more extensive fraud or misrepresentation, then so be it -- but if everyone had their eyes open, come down on the business and not the student.
