This is a bit off-topic, but I wanted to share this here. My husband just found out he's been barred from the US for 10 years because he was brought over by his mom when we was 10 years old. He could never go back to Canada because he never had a photo ID, etc. He thought his mom had it all under control and didn't, etc. Well he was supposed to visit me and my family and friends and the place he lived for a year today and was held up at the border for 2+ hours and told he couldn't see us again for ten years.

I'm going to visit him in 3 weeks in Canada. I hope the IO reviewing our file sees that my husband cannot visit let alone live in the US so that's why we're applying for Canada. Or else we have no other options except maybe the England ancestry visa.

Sorry, I just had to vent! I got my police clearance, but couldn't get my husband. :(

So sorry Nyssa! :( I'm glad that you are able to visit him. He will need your comfort. . .

Sorry to hear that ...

I so sorry to hear your news nyssa.

Congrats on the police clearance though (wasn't that your third try?). Hopefully the process will pick up a little bit of speed for you, and I look forward to hearing some good news soon.

Allison

Thank you everyone! I know it's about the US immigration laws... but he's my Canadian husband! We have such trouble with them. Please Canada, be more sympathetic! ???

A friend of mine suggested sending our story to the newspapers.

I am sorry Nyssa. :( That really sucks it's not his fault at all, he was a child and had no choice. My husband is inadmissible as well with the different reasons (read my previous posts maybe I wrote some there). He will have to get a waiver and the US Immg. lawyer told us our best bet is for me to go to Canada instead of him going to the States.

I am sorry Nyssa - that's awful.

I'm so sorry Nyssa :(

I am so sorry Nyssa..thats terrible..these laws should not come into effect until people reach the age of consent at least and can be held accountable for their actions...this is nothing to do with your husband..it was his mothers fault! My Husband has looked an an ancestry visa for the UK as a last resort for us to be together..they look to be so much easier to apply for! I hope you have better luck with your PR to Canada..do you not have a H&C Case too?
